Was doing some catching up today on my internet news when I came across this story about what I consider to be a frivolous lawsuit.

An 82 yr old widow stores a cashiers check she received in 1985 in a safe deposit box at the bank and suddenly finds out that after 5 years the money was considered unclaimed and surrendered to the state.  Why should Chase honor a check that old is my question.  Yes there was no expiration date on the check but I think it should be just common knowledge that checks don’t last forever.  If more people held onto checks like she does then everyone’s books would be off for years and years creating a huge mess in the books.

I think my pay checks are only good for 180 days before they are no longer valid and I thought that was pretty standard.  Did this women not have a job?  Surely she would have known that checks do expire then.  I know its mean and its her life savings and all but please, let Darwin do his work here.

So I forgot how awesome I think stop motion videos are. I’d really like to do one. Anyone have any ideas of what they would like to see? Or is anyone interested in helping me make it? The video below is probably one of the best ones I have seen so kudos to Eric Martin for pointing it out to me.

So I’ve had quite a few unique visits to my site, a lot of which are from Facebook.  I’d like to say thanks to all of you who are checking out my site and I would love to hear some suggestions for what you would all like to see on my site.  If you would, leave me a comment or two with suggestions at this post.

This has to be the largest piece of jerky I’ve ever seen. Its Arizona Jack’s Beef Jerky Super Giga. Its actually not to bad. I saw it at the MotoMart in Collinsville, IL. Probably not the smartestt $6 I’ve ever spent but you would too if you saw this thing.

I just saw a commercial for Sanford Brown College to get a degree in Game and Web design. I have to wonder, who really signs up for that kind of BS. (and I don’t mean bachelor of Science) Besides Sanford Brown getting exposed as a for being a for profit institution, the degree seems just as worthless as a liberal arts or communications degree. What employers look for game design?

Yeah, there are people that actually make all the games we play but the demand just isn’t that great unless you want to be stuck developing shitty kids games like Dora the Explorer Candyland. I think there will just be a lot more “college graduates” that can’t find jobs and don’t know what they really want to do with their lives.

So after being dead for about 2 years, I’m finally bringing Phildawg.com back. I’ll work on actually posting stories and maybe setting up a cafe express shop with merchandise. You can then purchase some Phildawg “swag” and walk around town to see how many people ask you, “You know Phil Schaefer?”
